Owner Samuel I Minder grew his first myrtle bunch plants in his basement in 1955. Since then he’s expanded to include four locations in Lancaster County.
Samuel realized from the start that loyal customers are the foundation of a strong business. He knew that treating your customers like they’re family (they are in his eyes) is the right way to do business.
From his humble beginning of selling plants out of his basement, he worked hard to expand to four locations in Lancaster, PA. Minder Nurseries plants can be found on such prestigious sites as The White House, Pentagon, The Smithsonian Institute, United Nations Building, The Bronx Zoo, Disney World, World Trade Center Memorial, and many other landscape sites.
Minder Nurseries knows the importance of keeping the business family owned. Presently, Samuel I. Minder Jr. & Steven D. Minder own and operate the nurseries. Samuel Sr’s grandsons Michael J. Minder, Matthew E. Minder, & Samuel I. Minder III are the 3rd generation playing key roles in the management and growth of the business today.
